All our homes were well below this figure with an average of 6.02KwH/M2/Y and 1.04KgCO2/M2/Y, a reduction of over 95% from their pre-works BER results for energy use and for carbon emissions. It is also worth noting that one of our up-graded homes achieved a rating of -1.66KwH/M2/Y and an emissions rating of -0.33KgCO2/M2/Yr in the post works assessment, a truly remarkable achievement for a 1970’s suburban semi-detached house and one of only two, pre 2006 homes in the entire country ever to achieve a negative BER result. The project design and management company for our deep retrofit programme, Towards Zero Energy Limited, obtained statistics from SEAI for the number of pre 2006 homes that have achieved an A1 from a BER Rating and at time of writing there are only 38, of which 9 were up-graded by FloElen Construction and their dedicated staff. Furthermore, when analysing the data for these homes, supplied by SEAI, ours are at the upper end of the results tables for actual electricity usage and carbon emissions and our homes included 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th place on the table with none of our homes coming below 15th place.
