To monitor the on-going use of electricity, energy devices were fitted to measure the amount of electricity used by the heat pump for heating and hot water, by the MHRV system and the overall electricity consumption for all uses in each of the homes.  In addition, monitoring devices were fitted to record the amount of electricity generated by the PV system, how much of that was used in the home and how much was not used and therefore exported to the national grid.  As part of the programme this monitoring must be undertaken for at least 3 years following the completion of the up-grades and the figures submitted to SEAI for analysis of the savings made.
