In spring 2016 FloElen Construction undertook a deep renovation project at a west Dublin house and its aim was to bring this family home into the 21st century. One of the main elements of the renovation focussed on the wet rooms and the work included the upgrade of the family bathroom, the building of a new en-suite in the master bedroom and the complete overhaul of the downstairs WC. The client’s brief to us was clear, “make the wet rooms beautiful, make them easy to keep clean, give us showers instead of baths and please heat the floors to keep our feet warm”.
It was a challenge we were happy to take on and we began by tanking the floors and walls so that we could build wet rooms and avoid the installation of shower trays and floor mounted WC’s and WHB’s. Before tiling the areas, we installed floor drains and the all-important under tile electric floor heaters. The WC cisterns were concealed behind the tiling and all the sanitary wear is wall mounted leaving the floor completely free of obstructions and easy to clean. When we visited in January 2017 the clients were delighted with the results and these photos speak for themselves and for FloElen’s ability to meet the needs of their clients.
